Our top 6 tips for the best Terracotta Warriors experience

Planning your visit doesn’t have to be as complicated as preparing an army for the afterlife! Here are our top insider tips to make the most of your time at this world-exclusive exhibition.

  1. Book your tickets

Pre-booking online is the easiest way to secure your spot and choose your visit time. You’ll skip the queue at the Museum entry and go into the draw to win a trip for two to Xi'an, China, home of the Terracotta Warriors!

This popular exhibition can get busy, so if you prefer fewer crowds, we recommend visiting on weekdays and in the afternoons.

  2. Getting to the Museum

Public transport is a stress-free way to get here. We’re just a short walk from Perth Train Station, and several buses stop right outside the Museum. Plan your journey on the Transperth website. There are also bike racks and public carparks with ACROD nearby — find more info on our website.

Construction is currently underway in the Perth Cultural Centre, so follow signage or check the map

Flying in from abroad? Cathay Pacific is our top pick — the same airline that brought the Terracotta Warriors to Perth!

  3. Before the big day

Check our accessibility guide before your visit for tools and information including a sensory map, visual story, supports, checklists, and helpful tips.

  4. You’ve arrived at the Museum, what now?

If you purchased a ticket online, there is a special lane at the main entrance to fast-track your access to the exhibition.

During busy times — like weekends and school holidays — there may be queues and longer waits to enter the exhibition. Before entering the exhibition our friendly Visitor Services Offices will give you a short introduction and then invite you to enter.

Once inside, take your time! Most visitors spend 1–1.5 hours exploring. Mandarin speakers can use the QR codes on the objects for translations. And don’t forget to grab your Bi card magnet on entry — it will reveal some magical surprises!

  5. While you’re at the Museum

No visit is complete without a stop at our retail store to shop the exclusive Terracotta Warriors range and take home your own treasured artefact.

Feeling peckish? Epoch Café on the Beaufort Street side of WA Museum Boola Bardip has coffee, food, treats, and drinks, open daily from 7.30am – 3pm.

Don't forget, you can enjoy 50% off General Admission to explore even more of the Museum when you buy Terracotta Warriors tickets online or in-person.

  6. After your visit

We love seeing Terracotta Warriors through your eyes — and your words! Tag WA Museum on Instagram, WA Museum Boola Bardip on Facebook, use #WarriorsInPerth, and leave us a review on Tripadvisor.

Terracotta Warriors isn’t done surprising you! Even if you’ve been before, our events and programs will let you experience the exhibition like never before.

And if you still have a question on your mind, our frequently asked questions will likely have the answer — you can find them under the 'Planning your visit' tab on our website. Armed with all this, you’re ready to enjoy every moment of Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor!
