Be a Voice for Generations
Saturday 27 May – Saturday 3 June
National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and explore how each of us can contribute to reconciliation in Australia.
The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2023, Be A Voice for Generations, encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives – where we live, work and socialise.
At Western Australian Museum it is our vision to provide a culturally safe, respectful and inclusive space for all people to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history, and to collaboratively advance understanding between all peoples. We are committed to working alongside and sharing the stories of our first people.
This year, we have partnered with Reconciliation WA to curate a diverse program of talks, tours, and events which foster meaningful conversations and promote understanding during National Reconciliation Week. These programs not only showcase the rich heritage and stories of Indigenous peoples but also empower individuals to be advocates for reconciliation, amplifying their voice as we work towards a more inclusive and just society.
For the work of generations past, and the benefits of generations future, lets act today for a more just, equitable, and reconciled country for all.
