Gold. Silver. Bronze. And now, the Hall of Fame.
For the third consecutive year, WA Museum Boola Bardip has been crowned Major Tourist Attraction, earning its place among Western Australia’s most iconic destinations. For our dedicated team, the win reflects the power of storytelling, cultural connection, and the honest belief that museums are more than just buildings. They are living, breathing spaces of inspiration for the entire community
And the accolades did not stop there.
We also proudly took home Silver for Cultural Tourism, recognising our commitment to sharing stories that honour heritage, diversity and deep listening, and Bronze for Excellence in Accessible Tourism, celebrating our efforts to ensure every visitor feels welcome, seen and valued.
These awards reflect a year of extraordinary momentum. We welcomed record-breaking visitor numbers and hosted exhibitions that moved hearts and minds, from the ancient artistry of the Terracotta Warriors and the profound stories of the Spinifex People, to the breathtaking landscapes of The Great Kimberley Wilderness.
Each exhibition was an invitation to explore, reflect, and connect with the diverse stories that shape our world.
Behind every success is a team, and ours is nothing short of exceptional. Curators, educators, designers, front-of-house staff, marketers, volunteers, and every single person who has contributed their time and energy to the Museum has played a role in this achievement. Their creativity, passion and commitment turned ideas into experiences, and experiences into memories.
As we step into the WA Tourism Hall of Fame, we do so with gratitude. For our team, our visitors, our partners, and the communities whose stories we are privileged to share.
Here’s to the journey ahead. To more stories, more connections, and more moments that remind us why museums matter.
