The WA Museum Boola Bardip is a finalist in the 2023 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards!

We are thrilled to be nominated as a finalist in the 2023 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards, presented by the Tourism Council Western Australia. The Awards recognise businesses, individuals, and destinations, for their commitment to excellence.

Sitting at the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre precinct, the WA Museum Boola Bardip is where Western Australia’s stories come alive, making it the must-see tourist destination for intrastate, interstate, and international travellers.

Boola Bardip, means ‘many stories’ in local Nyoongar language. The Museum offers visitors a dynamic and contemporary experience, shaped by a 'people first' approach and expressed through the authentic voices of Western Australians sharing their stories.

In 2022-23, Boola Bardip welcomed over 455,000 visitors, of which more than 185,00 came from interstate or overseas. Over 1.5 million people have visited since the Museum’s opening in November 2020.

Programs included 16 exhibitions, over 615 individual tours, and 360 special activities. Highlights have included guided tours in Mandarin, as well as tours focused on Aboriginal cultural heritage and WA Dinosaurs. Another great success has been late-night bar experiences incorporated into major exhibitions like Dinosaurs of Patagonia, Wonderland, and the Australian Premiere of Discovering Ancient Egypt.

WA Museum Boola Bardip works collaboratively with many Tourism partners and supporters including Tourism Council of WA, Tourism WA, Tourism Australia, WAITOC Aboriginal Tours and Experiences, and the City of Perth.

“We are delighted that the WA Museum Boola Bardip is a finalist in the WA Tourism Awards.  It is a great tribute to the hard work of our staff and volunteers, all of whom are focused on giving visitors the best possible experience."  WA Museum CEO Alec Coles said.
