We're thrilled that WA Museum Boola Bardip, the WA Museum's flagship site, has once again been named a finalist in the 2025 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards for Business Excellence.
The Museum won the Major Tourist Attraction award in 2023 and 2024 and has also excelled in the Cultural Tourism category, claiming gold in 2023 and silver in 2024.
This year, the Museum has again nominated itself for these two categories and, for the first time, is also vying for Excellence in Accessible Tourism — reflecting its significant commitment to ensuring every visit to the Museum is accessible and enjoyable.
A gold win in the Major Tourist Attraction category in the upcoming awards would also secure WA Museum Boola Bardip a place in the Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards Hall of Fame.
It’s been a huge year for WA Museum Boola Bardip, welcoming its highest visitor numbers since opening and recording an impressive 96% average satisfaction rate. As the ultimate destination for WA stories, the Museum saw almost a quarter of visitors coming from overseas, while locals returned again and again to enjoy its diverse exhibitions, programs, and events.
Highlights this year included the largest ever display of Spinifex Art in one place in Spinifex People: Art and stories from Pila Nguru; the hugely popular VR experience The Great Kimberley Wilderness; and the historic arrival of Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor, an exclusive exhibition by the WA Museum, appearing only in Perth, Western Australia.
The winners will be announced at the 2025 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards Gala Dinner on November 8.
