Being a finalist reflects your support and the incredible year we’ve had. We’re also proud to be recognised as finalists in the Hall of Fame and Entertainment Venue categories.
Over the past year, we’ve continued to deliver engaging exhibitions, innovative programs, and unforgettable visitor experiences. Some of the highlights include:
- The Great Kimberley Wilderness – A groundbreaking virtual reality journey narrated by Luke Hemsworth. This immersive experience brought one of Australia’s most iconic regions to life and attracted a sold-out season.
- Empress Joséphine’s Garden – A visually stunning 360-degree digital exhibition that explored the fascinating connections between French society, Australian botany, and Joséphine Bonaparte’s influence. Due to popular demand, this exhibition was extended by three months.
- ‘Free All Summer’ Campaign – By offering free general entry over summer, we welcomed thousands of new and returning visitors, making Western Australia’s maritime heritage more accessible than ever before.
- WA Down Under Gallery Redevelopment – We unveiled a major transformation of this beloved space, now featuring living aquariums and exhibits showcasing the state’s coastal and marine ecosystems.
The WA Maritime Museum is not just a place to visit—it’s a vibrant cultural centre and a cornerstone of Fremantle and Western Australia’s tourism. With your ongoing support, we’re excited to celebrate another outstanding year and hopefully add another award to our legacy.
