Following a sell-out world premiere season in Perth, and regional Western Australia, earlier this year, The Great Kimberley Wilderness virtual reality experience is now showing for a limited season at the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle, from 31 May to 24 August.

Praised by critics and audiences alike, this groundbreaking 35-minute virtual reality experience is narrated by Luke Hemsworth and produced by the award-winning Australian production team at White Spark Pictures.

Step into the heart of the Kimberley at the WA Maritime Museum. Experience this extraordinary region’s natural wonders like never before, through a fully immersive 360-degree virtual reality cinema. With 7.1 surround sound, it’s as close as you can get to being there — without leaving Fremantle, you’ll find yourself surrounded by:

  • Waterfalls cascading from ancient cliffs.
  • Ancient caves adorned with some of the world’s oldest rock art.
  • Rivers winding through some of the world’s most pristine landscapes.
  • Epic tides surging over coral reefs.

Informed by both Traditional Owners and western science, The Great Kimberley Wilderness offers an unforgettable opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring scale of the Kimberley.

Don't miss your last chance to experience the Kimberley like never before — only at the WA Maritime Museum for a limited season.

50% visual – The Great Kimberley Wilderness has both sound and visual components but sight isn’t essential to meaningfully engage with the work.

50% sound – The Great Kimberley Wilderness includes dialogue and has background music and sounds.

If audience members are unable to wear a VR headset, there is a movie screen at the front of the room that will project the film in a traditional 2D cinema format so you can still enjoy the film experience.

The dialogue in The Great Kimberley Wilderness requires an understanding of the English language, but the visuals and sounds can be experienced without the language comprehension.

The VR headset is designed to accommodate most prescription glasses. Take care to wear the VR headset in a manner in which the VR headset lenses to not rub or impact your prescription lenses.
