Take time to reflect on your favourite memories of family and fun —  and then bottle them for safekeeping in this creative workshop.

Inspired by our From Nonna with Love exhibition, we’ll explore the beautiful intergenerational story Memory Jars by award-winning author and illustrator Vera Brosgol.

When young Freda is upset that she can’t eat all the blueberries from this year’s harvest, her Gran shows her that some things, like berries, can be preserved in jars — while some precious things are best kept as memories.

After the story, it’s time to get hands-on. Children will design and decorate their own memory jar using fancy flourishes and personal touches to create a special place for their treasured moments.

Materials are provided.
