Le Gioie Delle Donne (The Joys of the Women) Italian Choir is one of Fremantle’s living treasures.
First established in 1988, Le Gioie Delle Donne Choir is a passionate group of women who enjoy sharing their love of traditional Italian stories told in song.
The choir’s rich repertoire of traditional songs is drawn from all regions of Italy. They tell joyous stories of love, country life, the harvest, beautiful girls, the moon and the stars as well as wartime songs sung by the partisans, and songs of migration.
Join us at the WA Maritime Museum and immerse yourself in Italy’s musical heritage.
Note that this live performance will be preceded by a screening of the award-winning documentary, The Joys of the Women.
