WA Down Under Gallery
Western Australia is renowned for its beautiful beaches and coastlines which form an integral part of life for so many. Our coastal water support recreation, employment, food and energy, while also being home to some of the richest most diverse life on Earth.
The WA Down Under Gallery celebrates the spectacular life found off our coast and highlights its important role in nature and human activity.
Explore below the water’s surface with our living aquariums and get up close with amazing habitats and carefully conserved aquatic specimens you would not otherwise have the chance to see.
Focussing on the estuarine waters of the Swan River / Derbarl Yerrigan and the temperate waters of the southern coast, the Gallery explores the range of economic, environmental, social, and cultural benefits of our coastal waterways and reveals what we must protect to ensure humans and nature continue to thrive.
