National Science Week

WA Museum is celebrating National Science Week 2026 with a program that has a little something for everyone in a week of exploration and curiosity. Science is about so much more than microscopes and Bunsen burners. Join us from 15–23 August 2026 to learn something new, spark your imagination and discover the exciting world of contemporary science.

This National Science Week, discover how Museum scientists identified a lost species of koala. Join Helen Ryan, a member of the Museum’s research team behind this discovery, to learn more about this remarkable species and what sets it apart from modern koalas.
