Projects

Rachel serves as the Technical Officer for the Genetic Resources Laboratory at the Collections and Research Centre of the WA Museum, where she supports projects across both aquatic and terrestrial zoology.

In addition, Rachel is pursuing a PhD at James Cook University. Her research interests span conservation, biodiversity, and the biogeography of coral reef ecosystems. Her PhD project, titled An Integrated Taxonomic Approach to Understanding the Biodiversity and Biogeography of Australian Reef Corals, aims to address crucial taxonomic and evolutionary questions related to the history and future of corals in the Great Barrier Reef, using advanced phylogenetic techniques.
