Adult Supervision

The following supervision ratios are required for all education groups visiting any WA Museum sites.

  • Years K-2, minimum 1 adult to 6 students
  • Years 3-10, minimum 1 adult to 10 students
  • Years 11-12 (Museum only visit) minimum 1 supervisor with the group

There is a mandatory minimum of 2 supervisors per education supervisory team.

The responsibility of children remains with the education staff from the visiting school or educational organisation.

Please ensure that your adult supervisor is aware of their role in regards to the behaviour and safety of your students.

 

Transport

Transport arrangements are the responsibility of the school.

The WA Shipwrecks Museum is an approximate 15 minute walk from the Fremantle Train Station.

Trains run from Perth Train Station to Fremantle.

Drop-off and pick-up bus/coach bays are available at the end of Marine Terrace, next to Esplanade Park. For further information about bus/coach parking, please contact the City of Fremantle on 9432 9999 or www.fremantle.wa.gov.au.

 

Self-guided experiences

The Museum offers free *self-guided experiences with bespoke resources that lead students on a journey of discovery through the Museum.

Places are available Monday to Friday every half hour between 9.30am – 3pm and bookings are essential. 

*Self guided education bookings are free of charge and include general admission for those 15 and under, students 16-18 attending as part of an educational booking and accompanying teachers to a ratio of one adult to six students.
