Exploring WA’s Deep Sea

Explore the biology, ecology, geomorphology, and oceanography at the deepest parts of the Australian Marine Parks.

This exhibition showcases the scientific findings of the Minderoo-UWA Deep-Sea Research Centre's two year-long project, Exploring the Deepest Parts of Australian Marine Parks in collaboration with Parks Australia, Minderoo Foundation and WA Museum, featuring deep sea artwork by Wadandi Noongar and Ait Koedhal artist Tyrown Waigana.

Deep dive into the Gascoyne Marine Reserve (GMR), Perth Canyon Marine Reserve (PCMR), and South-west Corner Marine Reserve (SWCMR).

This project is funded through the Australian Government's Our Marine Parks Grants program with Parks Australia.

Research takes place on Wardan Boodja (Sea Country). We pay our respect to past and present Traditional Owners of the land on which our centre resides, the Whadjuk Nyoongar and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on whose lands and seas our researchers work.
