Fuel your curiosity these school holidays and blast off to the Museum of Geraldton!

With a range of workshops and drop-in activities running daily, the Museum of Geraldton offers a galaxy of holiday fun!

Inspired by SKAO’s Cosmic Echoes: A Shared Sky Indigenous Art Exhibition, on display at the Museum of Geraldton from Saturday 4 July to Sunday 6 September 2026, this year’s winter program is all about stars, skies and stories.

To kick off the school holiday weekend, Geraldton’s SGIO Building will come alive with stunning large-scale projections of Cosmic Echoes art on Friday July 3. Realised by local creative, Visual Vitamins, this free display will run from 6pm to 9pm for the whole family to enjoy.

Keeping with the cosmic theme, the Museum of Geraldton has a range of out-of-this world activities to keep young explorers engaged all break long. For those who love a challenge, eight Museum objects have been transformed into constellations for clever minds to decode on an epic Museum-wide Star Trail.

Stargaze at any time of the day or night with a free craft activity from the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research, featuring iconic southern-sky constellations like Orion and the Southern Cross.

With a wide range of activities created by SKAO, including egg painting with Wajarri artist Kurt McIntosh, table-top radio telescope sessions, and hands-on art workshops, there’s plenty to discover, create and explore at the Museum of Geraldton these school holidays.
