Under the expert guidance of Teori Shannon, this workshop focuses on the process of preserving insects.

Participants will learn basic insect anatomy while being guided through the processes of rehydration and specimen repair techniques for beetles, butterflies, moths and stick insects as well as pinning and displaying their specimens. 

Participants are encouraged to bring a pencil/pen and notepad.

Students will get to preserve their very own, butterfly/moth beetle and stick insect. Final specimens will be taken home on the day to be displayed in shadowboxes once dryStudents will additionally get to select one readymade insect to display in their shadowbox to take home.

No previous entomology or insect preservation knowledge necessary.

Please note: Chemicals used include borax. All materials are supplied and ethically sourced where possible. If you purchase tickets and cannot attend the class, a refund can be requested 14 days before the class starts.
