Turn Ocean Discoveries into Art

Discover how art and science can work together during this creative half-day workshop inspired by the wonders of the ocean.

Begin with a guided exploration of the Museum’s galleries, where you’ll observe marine specimens and gather ideas for your artwork before learning how scientists study the natural world and turning your observations into ocean-inspired stencil prints.

Design and cut your own stencils, experiment with screen-printing techniques and layer colours and patterns to create two original artworks to take home.

What to expect

  • Explore the Museum's galleries for artistic inspiration
  • Learn how to design and cut your own stencils
  • Experiment with screen-printing techniques
  • Create two ocean-themed prints to take home

Perfect for creative kids who love art, nature and making something uniquely their own.

All materials provided — just bring a snack and a drink bottle.

Drop and Leave Holiday Programs

Drop and leave programs enable juniors to experience the Museum independently, discover and learn something new in an area of interest and access materials and resources that would not normally be available at home. All programs are managed and monitored by our experienced Learning and Engagement staff.
