Imagine a backyard where bees are buzzing, lizards are scurrying, birds flit about and pollinators dance from flower to flower. Let's create!
Backyard Blockheads is the ultimate program for those who love nature and want to learn how to create habitat for wildlife in their backyard. Your challenge is to become a wildlife superhero and create homes and cool hang out spaces for Perth’s local wildlife.
Throughout the day you’ll apply some DIY tricks of the trade, including woodwork, painting, decorating and garden design. Don't forget, it’s all about location, location, location back at your place. Thinking about what wildlife calls your backyard a home, who will move in? You’ll also get to meet some potential buyers of your beautiful new home!
Time to get onto the tools. So, what are you waiting for?
During this workshop, participants will:
- Create an 'Air Bee N Bee' hotel.
- Dive into the world of plants for pollinators.
- See how easy it is to create a lizard lounge.
- Meet some potential visitors.
Don't forget to bring a water bottle, your lunch and an old shirt to wear to protect your clothes while on the tools!
Provided tools, equipment and materials which may be used under strict guidance
