Step into a world where creativity knows no bounds and bring your wildest ideas to life!

Like animation? Get ready for an exciting journey into clay animation. This workshop lets you explore the basics of stop-motion animation, create your characters, and produce short films. It’s a perfect blend of art and technology for curious and creative minds.

During the workshop, you will:

  • Explore the To the Moon exhibition for inspiration
  • Develop a simple storyboard to outline the key events of your claymation
  • Craft and manipulate characters and settings to bring your story to life
  • Utilise software to produce and edit your animation
  • Share your finished product with the group before taking it home

Whether you're new to animation or have some experience, this workshop is for everyone with a curious and creative spirit. Bring your imagination, patience, and attention to detail—we’ll provide the rest!

All required technical equipment will be provided. However, we kindly ask you to bring a 4GB USB to download your work.


National Companion Cards are accepted at the WA Museum Boola Bardip. Due to the nature of this workshop, companion card bookings should be made by contacting reception@museum.wa.gov.au

Drop and leave programs

Drop-and-leave programs enable young people to experience the Museum independently, discover and learn something new in an area of interest, and access materials and resources not usually available. Our experienced Learning and Engagement staff manage and monitor all programs.
