Picking up the pieces with history curators, Kylie Elston and Joshua Kalmund – discussing the challenges of collecting objects and stories after natural disasters.
Extreme weather events such as the Wooroloo bushfires represent an important part of WA's ongoing history, however, for museums documenting these events can present many challenges.
During this session, learn what memorabilia can be collected when fire or storm have swept through a community. How do we approach communities with sensitivity after these events? And, how can museums communicate the experience of living through, surviving and recovering from natural disasters?
