Come and spend the day exploring Aboriginal knowledge systems with deadly Nyoongar maaman and local legend, Derek Nannup.

Through a number of hands-on activities learn first-hand about how all things are interconnected.

During this workshop, participants will:

  • Collaborate in the construction of a life-sized kalak (winter shelter) and make their small-scale model to take home.
  • Investigate a variety of Aboriginal objects used to demonstrate the topic of flight.
  • Listen to the Dreamings and how they convey messages of Caring for Country and personal responsibility.
  • Experience some deadly dance moves to get your feet tapping.
