Can't visit during the day? Enjoy an adventure in Wonderland in the evening at the Half Mad Bar.

Explore the Wonderland exhibition at your own pace with drinks, music, performances and more. Whether you fancy a "Drink Me" cocktail, a spot of flamingo croquet, or just the chance to don your best Wonderland-inspired cosplay, there's something for everyone at Half Mad Bar.

Wonderland is an interactive, immersive exhibition that celebrates Lewis Carroll’s timeless stories and Alice’s adventures on film.

Unwind at the end of the week, absorb the magic and remember "we're all mad down here"...

The line-up for Half Mad Bar is announced monthly to help you plan ahead.

Keep your eyes peeled for two supersized, outdoor versions of the half Mad Bar in February and March where VJ Zoo will take over the Old Gaol projection system and deliver an immersive visual spectacle.

*Ticketed entry grants access between 5.30 pm - 9 pm. Ages 18+ only. Food and drinks are available for purchase.

Drag Queen of Hearts: Event Information

A person dressed in red textured velvet jacked with a large collar and corset. They have an inviting surprised expression as they hold their collar and stand in front of a black and white striped curvy background

Drag Queen of Hearts is 45 minutes of gruelling Wonderland trivia! Brush up on your knowledge of all things pop culture (or just be completely surprised) for this ridiculous and hilarious session. Goofy prizes will be up for grabs for quiz winners and runners-up. We're adopting a casual honesty policy to encourage all quiz participants to refrain from looking up the answers on their phones.

Participation is simple. The quiz starts at 6.30pm and no pre-enrolment is required. Come along before the start time, grab a question sheet from one of our Visitor Services Officers, nab a table and follow the prompts of the MC.

Not interested in the quiz? That’s fine too. The bar and gallery will remain open for the duration of the evening for all ticket holders, so if Drag Queen of Hearts isn’t your vibe feel free to roam the exhibition. We look forward to seeing you there, whether you’re quizzing or not!
