Moonlight Space Mission

3...2...1...Blast off on your Moonlight Space Mission! 

Embark on a late-night adventure during the school holidays with our immersive exhibition, To the Moon.  Explore the exhibition and see a real piece of the Moon, decorate a digital rocket and watch it blast off, create moon-inspired poetry, and marvel at Luke Jerram's breathtaking Museum of the Moon. All this space travel can be exhausting, so pick up your space-themed snack box for a unique exhibition experience of having a 'snack with the Moon'.  

The fun doesn't stop once you 'return to Earth'! Continue your space mission and head up to Level 3 to look through telescopes with astronomers from the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR), step into Scitech's transportable planetarium for a bite-sized show, stop in and follow our trail through the Origins Gallery and take part in space-themed activities the whole family will love! 

Everything is included in your ticket, throughout the evening you can enjoy the following at your leisure: 

• Take a trip To the Moon in our new exhibition, in an exclusive 'up-late' setting
• Collect your space-themed snack box in the exhibition while you sit with our giant moon installation 
• Meet an astronomer, look through telescopes and ask your best space-related questions with our friends from ICRAR
• Pop into the Scitech planetarium to hear about the night sky in a bite-sized show
• Follow our trail through the Origins gallery and see meteorites and pre-solar diamonds
• Take part in our space-themed activities on Level 1

Please note that ticket sales close 2 days before the event for catering purposes. 

Space Themed Snack Boxes

Each ticket includes a snack box to pick up in the exhibition on the night.  Each snack box consists of: 

• 1 x Galaxy rice crispy treat
• 3 x crackers with star cheese
• 1 x fruit kebab with star-shaped fruits

Dietary requirements must be pre-ordered when purchasing tickets by completing this form. 

This event is recommended for ages 5+. Children 4 and under are welcome to attend and will require a junior ticket for entry if they wish to participate in activities and enjoy a snack box. If they do not wish to participate or receive food they can attend for free and do not require a ticket.
