Celebrating Noongar language, culture and youth voices through theatre
Presented in collaboration with Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company and WA Youth Theatre Company (WAYTCo).
Experience Ngalaka Daa, a live performance celebrating Noongar language and culture through theatre making, storytelling and performance.
Ngalaka Daa showcases the creative work developed by young Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people who participated in an intensive theatre-making program run by Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company. The program allows the young participants the opportunity to develop professional-level skills in performance, storytelling, and Noongar language, nurturing the next generation of performers, language carriers and cultural leaders.
Presented inside Hackett Hall at WA Museum Boola Bardip, Ngalaka Daa plays an important role in preserving and celebrating one of the world’s oldest living languages while fostering cultural connection and awareness within the community.
