Uncover ancient secrets and discover the science behind archaeology
Step into the role of an underwater explorer and investigate what lies hidden beneath the ocean floor. Inspired by our latest exhibition OceanXperience, this immersive workshop invites young investigators to think like real archaeologists and palaeontologists as they uncover clues, examine evidence and piece together stories from the past. Through hands-on challenges and creative activities, participants will discover how scientists use fossils and artefacts to better understand our world.
What to Expect
• Take part in a simulated seabed dig and record your discoveries
• Analyse artefacts and uncover clues hidden beneath the surface
• Piece together the story of your underwater dig site and create new artefacts to display
• Curate and present a mini exhibit inspired by your findings
Perfect for curious minds who love science, discovery and hands-on learning.
We'll provide everything - you just need to bring your lunch and a drink bottle.
Drop and Leave Holiday Programs
Drop and leave programs enable children and young people to experience the Museum independently, discover and learn something new in an area of interest and access materials and resources that would not normally be available at home. All programs are managed and monitored by our experienced Learning and Engagement staff.
