Celebrate the Nyoongar season of Birak, where the vibrant colour red symbolises heat, sun and fire!
Explore the beauty of wildflowers through watercolour paintings and learn how these stunning red plants support local pollinators.
You'll also get hands-on, building a cosy bee hotel to give local native bees a safe place to call home.
During this program, participants will:
- Learn watercolour painting techniques
- Create a unique wildflower artwork to take home
- Build a DIY bee hotel for local native bees
- Discover the fascinating world of pollinators
Tools and materials used under strict guidance include:
- Hand tools: Hand drills, hack saw, screwdrivers and tabletop vice
- Protective equipment: Safety glasses, latex-free gloves, protective aprons and dust masks
- Materials: Plywood, bamboo and PVA wood glue.
