About MALI JO$E
MALI JO$E is part of a new wave of globally minded artists emerging from Fremantle / Walyalup, blending sharp lyricism with experimental, forward facing production that sits comfortably alongside the international avant garde.
Following a breakout run through 2024, including a WAM Award for Best Hip Hop Act, appearances at SXSW Sydney, and collaborations with artists such as Sol ChYld and Mick Jenkins, Mali cemented his position as one of Australia’s most compelling new voices.
In 2025, he delivered his debut album GOD IS THE WIND, a 14 track body of work that expanded his reach beyond Australia and into the global alternative hip hop conversation. Featuring Wiki, Pink Siifu, REMI and Tha God Fahim, the project showcased Mali’s ability to operate at an international level, pairing intricate wordplay with immersive, genre fluid production.
Rooted in Fremantle but outward looking in scope, Mali’s music draws from both his local environment and broader global influences, building a sound that feels distinctly Australian while resonating with audiences in the UK, US and Europe.
Alongside his recorded output, Mali has built a reputation as a compelling live performer, supporting international acts including Ravyn Lenae, Wiki and BKtherula, and continuing to grow his presence across live stages and audiences.
