Bring your wildest ideas to life with stop-motion animation
Step into the world of animation these school holidays with a hands-on workshop that brings your imagination to life! Using clay, you'll create your own characters, develop a story, and produce your own short film, while learning the fundamentals of stop-motion animation. It’s a fun blend of art and technology, ideal for curious and creative minds.
What to expect
Your animation adventure includes:
- Exploring the Museum's galleries for inspiration
- Sketching your story with a simple storyboard
- Building and animating clay characters and scenes
- Creating and editing your film using animation software
- Sharing your masterpiece with the group - and taking it home!
Whether it’s your first time animating or you just love making things, this workshop is perfect for every young artist with a creative spark.
What to bring
- 4GB USB so you can take your film home
- Lunch and a water bottle
We’ll provide all materials and technical equipment—just bring your imagination, patience, and attention to detail!
Drop and Leave Holiday Programs
Drop and leave programs enable children and young people to experience the Museum independently, discover and learn something new in an area of interest and access materials and resources that would not normally be available at home. All programs are managed and monitored by our experienced Learning and Engagement staff.
