Terracotta Warriors: Fly to the Warriors Competition Terms & Conditions

General 

The Promoter of the Terracotta Warriors Travel Experience Giveaway (“Competition”) is the Western Australian Museum ("Promoter"), Cathay Pacific (“Primary Partner”), Juyo Travel (“Secondary Partner”).  

 

How to enter 

To be eligible to enter, you must:

  1. Have purchased an online ticket to Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor at WA Museum Boola Bardip.
  2. Agree to receive communications from the WA Museum by selecting ‘ENTER NOW’ on the ticket checkout page.

Entries that do not meet these criteria will not be eligible to win.

Entry submissions must be received between 25th August 2025 at 12:00am AWST and 15th February at 11:59pm AWST to be eligible.

 

Who can enter 

  • Entrants must be 18 years or older at the time of entry.
  • Employees or agents of the Western Australian Museum, Cathay Pacific, Juyo Travel, or their immediate family members are not eligible to enter the Competition. 

 

Prizes on offer 
One (1) winner will receive a travel experience prize pack for two (2) people to Xi’an, China, including: 

  • Return economy class flights for two (2) adults from Australia (only from ports serviced directly by Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong) to Xi’an, China (via Hong Kong), with Cathay Pacific
  • Return private airport transfers in Xi’an, China (5-seat luxury car from Xi’an Airport to hotel on arrival and from hotel to Xi’an Airport on departure)
  • Five (5) nights' accommodation at the Shangri-La Hotel Xi’an, located at No. 38b Keji Road, Yanta District, Xi'an, Shaanxi 710075, China (5-star hotel, subject to availability)
  • A guided city tour, including a visit to the Terracotta Warrior Mausoleum 

 

The prize is subject to the following rules: 

  • The prize is valid for travel between 15 March 2026 and 15 March 2027.
  • Block-out periods apply, including but not limited to:
  • New Year’s Eve (31 December 2025 – 1 January 2026)
  • Chinese New Year (16 – 17 February 2026)
  • Other peak travel periods including Easter and Australian school holidays
  • Flights are in economy class, and all bookings are subject to Cathay Pacific fare conditions and availability.
  • Travel is available only from Australian ports serviced directly by Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong.
  • The prize is valid for two (2) people and is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash.
  • If the winner and/or their companion cancel the trip after confirmation, no refunds or credits will be issued.
  • The winner and their companion must hold valid passports with at least 6 months' validity and be eligible to enter China. Any required visas, vaccinations, and travel documentation are the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
  • Travel insurance is strongly recommended and is not included in the prize.
  • All additional costs not expressly stated as part of the prize—such as meals, spending money, optional activities, and incidentals—are the responsibility of the winner.
  • In the event that the Shangri-La Hotel Xi’an is unavailable, Juyo Travel reserves the right to provide alternative accommodation of equal star rating.
  • Full booking terms and conditions from Cathay Pacific will be provided to the winner at the time of prize confirmation.
  • Prize does not include any meals or spending money  

 

Open, close and draw dates 

The competition opens on 25 August 2025 at 12:00am AWST and closes 15 February 2026 at 11:59pm AWST. Anyone who has purchased a ticket online from 1 May 2025 to 15 February 2026 and agreed to receive WA museum marketing communication will automatically be entered into the competition. The winner will be drawn on 16 February 2026 at 11am AWST at the WA Museum Boola Bardip, Perth Centre, Perth, WA 6000 and will be notified by email and mobile phone. 

The prize must be claimed by the winner within 48-hours of notification. The winner will be required to claim their prize by replying to the email or speaking to a WA Museum representative on the phone. Further details of where and how to collect the prize will be provided by the Promoter at the time it notifies the winner.  

If the prize is not claimed within the 48-hour period, the Promoter will conduct further draws at the same time and location as the original draw to distribute the unclaimed prize. The winner of any unclaimed prize draw will be notified by email or speaking to a WA Museum representative on the phone. If not claimed, the Promoter may conduct further draws following the expiry of that 48-hour period in accordance with this clause. 

The prize winners will be selected at random and determined by the Promoter at its absolute discretion. 

 

Publicity of Competition 

  • It is a condition of entry in the Competition that the WA Museum has the right to publish the name, image, voice, photograph or video of entrants (“Materials”) for any matter incidental to the Competition or the promotion or marketing of the WA Museum.
  • The WA Museum may use these Materials in any medium, be it on its website, other electronic means, or in any other reasonable manner that aligns with the purpose of the Competition and the promotion of the WA Museum. 

 

Privacy and miscellaneous 

  • The Promoter will collect, use and manage personal information provided in each entry in accordance with its privacy policy and membership terms and conditions.
  • All entries become the property of the Promotor and Primary Partner once submitted.
  • By submitting an entry, the entrant acknowledges and agrees that it is giving the Promoter and Primary Partner permission to use their entry for marketing, publicity or promotional purposes.
  • Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promotor (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition, including, but not limited to, liabilities arising from or in connection with:
  • any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control)
  • any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
  • any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter;
  • any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions;
  • any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant;
  • redemption of the prize; and
  • participation in the Competition 

 

Cancellation 

The WA Museum reserves the right to suspend, cancel or otherwise close the competition earlier than is stated in these terms and conditions for safety, security, technical failures, or any other causes which affect the proper administration, fairness or security of the Competition.
