Riversleigh, located in Queensland, is one of very few fossil sites with a World Heritage listing.

The discovery of its fossils has unlocked the evolutionary history of the Australian fauna, including some species that are uniquely West Australian today.

Presented by the Museum’s curator of mammals, Dr. Kenny Travouillion, come along and hear about the discovery of the fossil sites, the early days of the fossil collection, and a broad overview of the amazing animals found.

This not to be missed talk will also cover the more recent involvement of the WA Museum with the discovery of new fossil species from Riversleigh, and what we can learn about these species and the evolution of mammals in Australia.
