James Cameron: In Conversation
In March 2024, James Cameron - legendary deep-sea explorer and filmmaker - visited Western Australia for one public event to celebrate the launch of the JAMES CAMERON – CHALLENGING THE DEEP exhibition at the WA Maritime Museum.
A National Geographic Explorer-at-Large, Cameron has led eight ocean expeditions and developed unprecedented robotic and submersible vehicles. He has also dived solo to the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, the deepest place known on Earth, and to the Titanic wreck site 33 times.
Senior reporter and film critic Ben O’Shea discussed with James Cameron his passion and pursuits in deep ocean scientific and technical innovations, creative achievements, and his relationship between filmmaking and deep ocean exploration.
This event is supporting the Foundation for the WA Museum’s Marine Sustainability Fund.
