Prepare to be amazed as exciting organisations from the Goldfields Region band together to ignite your curiosity during Science Week.
In collaboration with local organisation and business, learn more through activities that unveil the magic of science in every profession and everyday life.
But wait, there's more! In addition to the fabulous local supporters of this event, we are very happy to announce that The Gravity Discovery Centre will be joining us with some amazing telescopes to watch as the stars come out in the evening sky. You'll be amazed at how much more you can see through their telescopes.
- Explore the night sky through powerful telescopes and see craters on the Moon!
- Hear about the deep connection with the night sky from local Aboriginal Artist Jason Dimer.
- Learn how to dust for fingerprints from a real Crime Scene Investigator in The Vault.
- See rock displays, volcano eruptions, and star gazing demonstrations.
- Interpret maps and try your hand at gold panning!
- Examine a thousand-year-old fossil found in the Goldfields region.
- Learn the science behind making fairy floss - and get a sneaky taste test!
- Go high tech and use VR goggles to explore the mining world under our feet.
- Understand the messy science behind magnetic slime.
- Get hands on with the Toy Library's science toys.
- Ignite your senses with beautiful scented products of precious wood to smell and handle.
- Test your driving skills with a magnetic car race.
Come on over and get hands-on with the wonders of science – it's going to be a blast!
