Have you ever wondered how mining companies decide whether it’s actually worth digging for gold?
In this hands-on workshop, kids can step into the boots of a mining boss and find out!
Armed with a toothpick (your mining tool) and a chocolate chip cookie (your “ore deposit”), carefully extract as many chocolate chips as possible without damaging your land or blowing your budget. How much chocolate can you recover before time runs out?
Through this deliciously fun activity, kids will learn about some of the decisions companies make thinking about environmental impact, costs and profits all while getting a tasty reward at the end.
