Appearance

Old Man Saltbush is a fast-growing shrub commonly used today as a livestock grazing plant, it has oval, scaly, silver-grey leaves that usually have serrated edges.

Distribution

Carlisle, Eastern Goldfield, Eastern Mallee, Eastern Murchison, Hampton, Mardabilla, Merredin, Nullarbor Plain, Southern Cross, Western Murchison, Wooramel.

Uses

Seeds can be ground into flour and then mixed with water to make a damper. Leaves can be eaten cooked like a regular green vegetable or eaten raw.
