Prepare to be amazed as exciting organisations from the Goldfields Region band together to ignite your curiosity during Science Week.
Join us for an unforgettable evening filled with science fun for all ages – featuring hands-on experiments, robotics and fascinating discoveries.
This year, we’ll be exploring the official National Science Week theme, “Decoding the Universe – Exploring the Unknown with Nature’s Hidden Language” and uncovering the secrets of our natural world in exciting new ways!
- Try your hand at robotics with Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA (CME)’s Digital Technologies!
- Become a sun detective and learn the secrets to how sunscreen works using UV.
- Enter the microscopic world by using microscopes to look at tiny cells.
- Discover deep time, and the connection between rocks, fossils and local geological history.
- Learn more about what goes into the food and drinks you consume!
- Get messy by experimenting with elephant toothpaste…
- Interpret maps and try your hand at gold panning.
- Examine a thousand-year-old fossil found in the Goldfields region.
- Go high tech and use VR goggles to explore the mining world under our feet.
- Junior scientists zone for the littlest of enthusiasts!
