Explore Old World Albany and imagine what our city might look like in the future.
These school holidays, Step into the past… then leap into the future through fun, family-friendly activities.
Enjoy a playful mix of activities, including kaleidoscope‑making, postcard design, vintage games, puzzles, dress‑ups with a themed photobooth, stereoscope viewing, matching challenges, and more.
Please note: Due to the exhibition Albany Then & Now: Panoramas of Menang Boodja exhibition and Hub Zone in the Eclipse Building, the Discovery Centre has temporarily relocated to the Co-Op Building.

Create free postcards to add to the window display or post one to family or friends, play the free games, these are ones your grandad will remember.
Time Travel Escape Room: Back to 1926 | $15 per group (3 - 6 players)
7 - 10 April 2026 | Ages 8+ | Sessions 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm
Nothing is as it seems… and the only way back to 2026 is to crack the clues, solve the puzzles, build your own time machine, and uncover the secret activation codes before time runs out!

Workshop: Sunlight Stories: Cyanotype Photography | $8

Create amazing blue and white artworks from flowers, leaves and everyday objects and cyanotype techniques and processing.
Workshop: Flat lay Studio: History from above | $8
16 April 2026 | Suitable for Adults and also children 6+ | 10.30am - 12.30pm
Learn flat lay composition techniques and design “Pinterest style” flat lays using objects from the Museum and treasures from home.
Workshop: Phototography workshop and Photo walk | Free
15 April 2026 | Ages 5+ | 10.30am - 12pm
In this fun, hands-on workshop, kids will learn the basics of photo composition before diving into amazing images from Albany’s past. Take a guided walk to local historic sites where young photographers can capture their own “Now” images.
Participants 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
