Join Richard Rennie during Senior's Week 2022 for a lively walk down memory lane to explore the technologies of Fremantle's past.

In the days before power points and Wi-Fi, Fremantle residents would have enjoyed a number of ingenious and wonderful technologies to have their photo taken, to create enjoyment and to amuse themselves.

Richard has developed a marvellous collection of heritage technology such as old cameras, gramophones, phonographs, magic lanterns, zoetropes and other technical wonders of a bygone age. Richard's father was manager of the Union Stores in High Street, and he will also discuss some of the early Fremantle household technology of the day.

Explore the display of early cameras in the Fremantle Then & Now: Historical Panoramas exhibition and take a photo in the vintage photo studio — but make sure you keep still for the camera, and no smiling!
