Albany audiences will receive a rare insight into the life of one of Australia’s most celebrated conservationists in the next In the Wild West lecture at the Western Australian Museum – Albany on November 15 and 16, 2012.
A new species of scorpion discovered on Western Australia’s Barrow Island has been named in honour of renowned conservationist Dr Harry Butler.

On Monday 11 June 2012, Dr. Butler was appointed an Officer in the Order of Australia, in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
