Ancient Greek Archaeology

Ready to be an archaeologist for the day?

From the down and dirty dig-site to a show-stopping exhibition, in this one-day workshop, you will experience the incredibly varied work of an archaeologist.

Your day starts with a tour of the Museum's latest exhibition Ancient Greeks: Athletes, Warriors and Heroes where you will see stunning examples of ancient archaeological excavation.

Then, back in the Woodside Learning Studios, it is time to roll up our sleeves and carefully examine an area rich in ancient pottery. We will document our finds, research their origins and prepare them for our own exhibition.

During this workshop, participants will collaborate to:

• Excavate a replica artefact site.
• Clean and reassemble replica artefacts.
• Prepare a mini museum exhibition.

Note: This is a drop-off holiday program. All participants should arrive with a drink bottle and packed lunch as they would when going to school.
