Essential information before you book

Do you have what it takes to create and design a board game to rival the likes of Uno, Monopoly or Exploding Kittens?

Join local game developer Jake, from Dapper Cranium Studios as they step you through clever design thinking and development, bringing your game to life in a fun and creative way. Off-screen time is guaranteed at this creative, hands-on, hand-crafting workshop!

During this drop and leave program, participants will:

  • Learn the basics of game design and how to use other games as models;
  • Explore ideas for your game using the Museum for inspiration;
  • Play existing games to see how they work;
  • Develop the prototype of your very own game. If you think it’s ready, we can even do a quick test!

All materials are provided for you to develop your game.

Drop and leave programs

Drop and leave programs enable juniors to experience the Museum independently, discover and learn something new in an area of interest and access materials and resources that would not normally be available at home. All programs are managed and monitored by our experienced Learning and Engagement staff.
