Unleash your imagination in a full day of creative fun!
Embracing colour, shape and cultural inspiration these school holidays with this hands-on workshop for young makers. Participants will design their own wearable art and create unique lanterns using a wide range of materials and techniques. With plenty of room to experiment and express themselves, this relaxed and supportive environment is the perfect place for young creators to thrive.
Ideal for curious minds who love to explore, design, and bring their creative ideas to life!
During this workshop, participants will:
- Design and create a variety of their own handmade treasures, including jewellery and lanterns.
- Learn new creative techniques and the basics of jewellery crafting.
- Explore the significance of lanterns in Chinese culture.
All you need to bring is your lunch and water bottle.
Drop and Leave Holiday Programs
Drop and leave programs enable children and young people to experience the Museum independently, discover and learn something new in an area of interest and access materials and resources that would not normally be available at home. All programs are managed and monitored by our experienced Learning and Engagement staff.
Don't take our word for it. Here's what some of our past participants had to say:
"Making jewellery was super fun!" Alicia 12 years
"I got to do my own design and we saw some of the museum." McKenzie 9 years
"It was really fun and all the staff were very friendly and were always open to help." Frankie 11 years
