This event has now finished. Please visit Tours & events to see what’s on at the Museum.

Grab some charcoal and pull up an easel, because you’ve been commissioned to create a portrait of two of the vainest characters from Greek Mythology.

The unstoppable Herakles and the irrepressible Athena will be joining us for the evening as they flex their muscles, challenging you to draw the best portrait in the land.

Enjoy an evening of drinks and laughs under the Blue Whale in our historic Hackett Hall. Cash bar will be available.

We will start by sharing the tales of Ancient Greek heroes and heroines before we use a range of traditional drawing techniques to sketch these two incredible heroes.

During this workshop, participants will:

  • Explore the Museum's latest exhibition, Ancient Greeks: Athletes, Warriors and Heroes.
  • Learn the tales of Herakles and Athena.
  • Complete a range of traditional drawings from our live models.
