Terms and conditions
By visiting the Western Australian Museum or purchasing a ticket for yourself or any other person to any Western Australian Museum exhibition, program, general entry, or performance, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
General terms and conditions
The Western Australian Museum strives to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all patrons, contractors, volunteers, and staff.
Museum staff, or contractors working on behalf of the Museum, reserve the right to refuse entry and/or to evict, without compensation, any person(s) who exhibit abusive, disruptive, or offensive behaviour and/or language, or at the Museum's discretion. This includes any visitor who uses racial and discriminatory language to any other patron, volunteer, or staff member.
As a condition of entry, all bags, backpacks, parcels, and prams/strollers may be visually inspected by Museum staff or security personnel.
To protect visitors, staff, and collections, large bags, backpacks, and bulky items are not permitted inside the Museum. These items must be cloaked at the Information Desk before entry.
All persons entering any Western Australian Museum venue must present a valid ticket. Western Australian Museum may refuse entry to any of its venues without the presentation of a valid ticket.
All general admission tickets are only valid for the stated date on the transaction confirmation, and not valid for any other date.
Legal and valid identification is required to be shown at point of entry for any event limited by age.
These ticket terms and conditions still apply to the purchase, redemption or registration of any tickets issued through the Western Australian Museum membership program.
Western Australian Museum reserves the right to refuse entry to any person including failure to abide by these terms and conditions.
Prohibited Items
For the safety of all visitors, the following items must not be brought into the Museum:
- Weapons of any kind (including replicas)
- Lighters, matches or ignition devices
- Aerosol spray cans (paint, deodorant, etc.)
- Sharp objects or tools
- Any other item considered dangerous by Museum security
If you are found to be carrying any prohibited item, you may be refused entry to the Museum, asked to leave the premises, or required to cloak the item as directed by staff.

Tickets cannot be refunded after purchase. Please view our refund policy below for further information.
Session times cannot be changed within 72 hours of your booked session, please carefully select a time that suits you.
If you are running late for your booked session, please arrive as soon as you can. Be aware that you may need to wait longer to enter the exhibition.
To help maintain a safe environment for all visitors and to protect the artefacts on display, large bags, backpacks, and bulky items cannot be taken into the Terracotta Warriors exhibition.
Please cloak these items at the Information Desk before entering.

Price and proof concession
All ticket prices are displayed in $AUD.
In order to receive concession entry, suitable and valid identification must be provided at the point of purchase (if in person) and entry into the venue including (but not limited to) – Seniors card, Student card, Healthcare card or Companion card.
Junior tickets are available for children between the ages of 5 and 15 years inclusive.
Children under the age of 5 are free for most general entry and exhibitions, unless stipulated via the ticketing event listing on the website. Children under 5 still require a valid ticket for entry and if seating is applicable, will need to sit on an adult’s lap and not occupy a seat.
Tickets cannot be used for any advertising, promotion, competition or other commercial purposes without Western Australian Museum authorisation.
Ticket prices are subject to change without prior notice.
Any promotional offers or discounts are valid only during the specified period.
Refunds
Tickets will not be refunded after purchase unless outlined by applicable laws. Any refund payable will be made to the original purchaser via the original payment method.
Western Australian Museum will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by the ticket holder in the event that the Museum is closed or any events are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Western Australian Museum reserves the right to cancel any ticket and refund the amount paid in full where there has been an error in ticket pricing, whether due to human error or website malfunction.
Refunds will not be permitted for refusal of entry or ejection from the venue or the failure to follow these terms and conditions.
No ticketing fees apply to any transactions purchased through the Western Australian Museum ticketing website, though ticketing fees may be implemented at any time, at the discretion of Western Australian Museum.
Western Australian Museum reserves the rights to adjust ticket pricing without prior notification.
Western Australian Museum and members of the Perth Tessitura Consortium are the only authorised ticket sellers for events at any Western Australian Museum venue, unless specified on the Western Australian Museum website listing for an event. Tickets purchased via an unauthorised seller will not be honoured and may be refused entry to the venue. Tickets cannot be resold.
Replacement of lost, stolen or missing tickets may be permitted at Western Australian Museum’s sole discretion and fees may apply.
