National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

This week is a great opportunity to visit WA Museum Boola Bardip with your class. We have a number of ongoing programs that can help to make your visit memorable and will publish any special events here for you to consider.

Here are some suggested activities to create the perfect itinerary that fits your needs.

Book a Facilitated Workshop

Our Connection to Country programs investigate the layered perspectives of current and past issues. In these sessions, students explore the stories, histories and cultures of Western Australia’s first peoples and learn how to ask critical questions about complex themes.

Book a Self-guided Experience

Self-guided exploration of the permanent exhibitions at Boola Bardip allows you and your students to explore at your own pace. Enhance your self-guided museum visit with our self-guided trails.

Book a Virtual Workshop

Our popular Virtual Workshop First Contacts allows you and your class to hear three stories of first contact from around Western Australia, considering the history and impacts of each of these encounters. In this interactive virtual session, students engage directly with a museum educator, participate in discussions and interactive activities, view video content, answer questions and complete a worksheet related to the first contact stories.

Teachers, are you looking for something just for you?

Book into our Teacher Professional Learning

Our Introducing Aboriginal Histories and Cultures across the Curriculum professional learning addresses a key knowledge gap for many educators, building their confidence in teaching complex aspects of Australian history and society.
