To the Moon: Under 5s play

Curious adults and future astronauts are invited to see our new exhibition and join us for play on Monday mornings during the school term. 

Enjoy a flexible morning and journey 'to the Moon' with your little one, so that you can explore at your own pace. Your ticket includes exhibition access for To the Moon spot talks throughout the morning and exclusive use of our 'moon base' play area with play activities designed for under 5s. 

Begin the morning in our 'moonbase' play area near the Carnotaurus on Level 1 for some introductory song, rhyme and play-based activities, led by our educator. We will begin at 9.30am, but you can arrive when suits you best! Then explore the exhibition at your leisure, fitting in with little one's timings. Our Play Area is available until 12pm to drop in and out of to suit your needs. 

Adults who want to dive a little deeper into the exhibition can uncover more through short exhibition popup talks during the morning. They're perfect for bite-sized information while you explore with your little ones. Locations of each talk will be advised on the day. 

Throughout the morning, little ones under 5 can engage in a variety of activities including songs, music and play, led by our education staff in our 'moonbase' play area. They can explore space through astronaut yoga, kinetic sand moon play and stories. 

These activities run throughout the morning, to enable you to dip in and out as you wish or even free play with the toys we have in the area. A designated space is also provided for adults and bubs who prefer tummy time only.
